Google has pushed Android 17 QPR1 Beta 2 to eligible Pixel devices. The build is available now for Pixel 6 through the full Pixel 10 lineup, including the Pixel Tablet series.

The update is mainly a bug fix release. Two weeks separate it from Beta 1, and the user-facing changes are slim.

The Privacy Dashboard now labels the AI assistant activity monitor as “AI assistant activity” instead of “Agent activity.” The Quick Settings editor also has a new icon. Notification dots got a subtle tweak in Beta 1 that carries into this build, adding a white ring to the design.

On the bug fix side, the Terminal app was failing to launch entirely, signal bars were showing as empty despite active connectivity, and Bluetooth tethering was resetting to off after every restart.

A few other fixes landed alongside those. Date and weather information was overlapping the fingerprint sensor area on the lock screen. Themed app icons were appearing enlarged when returning from an app. Navigation bar swipe gestures for switching between recent apps were also broken for some users.

Google also patched a bug in the F2FS file system that could cause data corruption or unexpected system instability. That one is worth flagging for anyone running the beta on a primary device.

Pixel users already enrolled in the Android 17 Beta will receive QPR1 Beta 2 automatically. New enrollments are open at google.com/android/beta.
