Google has started rolling out the May 2026 monthly software update for Pixel devices, bringing a handful of bug fixes alongside the latest security patches. The update is going out now to all supported Pixel devices running Android 16, with the rollout continuing over the next several weeks depending on carrier and region.

All devices land on build CP1A.260505.005. The supported list covers a wide range of hardware:

  • Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet
  • Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a
  • Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a
  • Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10a

On the fix list, most supported devices get the following:

  • Slow wireless charging speeds when battery level sits between 75% and 80%
  • Frozen keyboard or input screen appearing in some apps
  • Camera app freezing during video recording while adjusting zoom (Pixel 10 only for the camera fix)

A few display fixes are specific to newer hardware. Pixel 10 owners get a patch for a screen that could appear fuzzy, frozen, or show noise lines. Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL users additionally get a fix for a persistent flickering white dot or visual noise at the top of the display.

The update includes security patches from the May 2026 Pixel Security Bulletin. Google notes that a patch level of May 5, 2026 or later covers all issues in both this bulletin and the broader May 2026 Android Security Bulletin.

Devices should receive a notification when the update is ready. If you want to check manually, it’s under Settings in the software update section. With the Pixel 11 expected to arrive in August, this is likely one of the last major monthly updates before Google’s next hardware generation lands.
