Apple released the second developer beta for iOS 26.6, bringing bug fixes and security improvements ahead of iOS 27.
Apple has released iOS 26.6 Developer Beta 2 to registered developers, alongside matching betas for iPadOS 26.6, macOS 26.6, watchOS 26.6, tvOS 26.6, and visionOS 26.6.
This is a minor update ahead of the much bigger iOS 27, and it shows. The release is light on new features, with the focus mainly on bug fixes, security improvements, and stability. Notable additions from Beta 1 include:
- Maps Blastdoor, a new framework for better isolation and protection in Apple Maps
- An alert when you hit the maximum number of blocked contacts
- Safari, RCS encryption, CarPlay, and Games app fixes
Beta 2 details are still emerging. The beta is available now via Settings on registered developer devices, with a public beta expected to follow within a day or two.
