How to Remove Credit Card from Google Play

Purchasing apps and acquiring premium subscriptions from Play Store requires some payment methods which are usually debit cards. You can add them in a variety of ways, the most prominent being directly from the Play Store. However, what happens if you want to remove the card? We made sure to explain everything below.

How do I remove my Debit card from Google Play?

Removing your debit card from the Google Play Store Payment methods list is definitely not complicated as long as you know where to look. Google Play Payments are part of Google Pay and whichever card you have registered in Google Pay will be used for purchases in Google Play Store. And that’s the only place on Google’s platform where you can change, add, or remove debit cards.

But how to access it? It’s a simple task as well. You need to navigate to Play Store Payment & subscriptions. Once there, tap Payment methods and then select the More payment settings at the bottom of the list.

This will redirect you to the Google Pay page where you can edit, add, or remove means of payment. To summarize here’s a step-by-step path you should follow to remove a card from Google Play:

  1. Open Play Store.
  2. Tap on your Google Account icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Payment & subscriptions from the contextual menu.
  4. Open Payment methods.
  5. Open More payment settings.
  6. You’ll see all available payment methods, including cards.
  7. Just tap Remove under the card you want to delete from the list.

Later, you can change which card is the primary and which are secondary payment methods. In the same Google Pay menu, you can edit your cards. In case of expiration, you can always edit the data (just the expiration date, usually) and continue using the same card.

That should do it. Thank you for reading and feel free to ask us any related or unrelated questions in the comments section below. We look forward to answering them.
