How to Reset Keyboard on iPhone (EXPLAINED)

Since the default iPhone keyboard can’t be removed or reinstalled, troubleshooting issues is not the simplest task. For example, if your keyboard click suddenly becomes loud or your iPhone keyboard completely stops working. There’s the Reset Keyboard Dictionary option but this tends to dictionary entries, not the overall functionality. Luckily, there are some alternative ways to reset the keyboard on your iPhone. How do I fix the messed-up keyboard on iPhone?

If the iPhone Keyboard gets all messed up, you can usually fix it by tweaking settings or deleting the keyboard and adding it again from the list. If you have issues with dictionary entries, you can Reset Keyboard Dictionary in System settings. Alternatively, you can Reset All Settings. If you notice some sort of a system bug, report it to Apple and keep your device up to date.

1. Tweak Keyboard settings

If you made some unnecessary changes to the default keyboard, you can get back to settings and tweak settings to fit your preferences. Resetting Keyboard Dictionary only deletes all personal entries you added to Dictionary. On the other hand, if you want to disable things like Auto-Correction or Predictive typing, you can do that in Keyboard settings. That’s where you can delete and add new keyboards based on your preferences.

Here’s how to tweak Keyboard settings on your iPhone:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Choose Keyboard.

2. Reset Keyboard Dictionary

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select General.

3. Reset All Settings

Finally, if you can’t deal with individual settings and the dictionary is not the problem, you can Reset All Settings on your iPhone. This procedure won’t delete any data, just restore all settings to their original values, including Keyboard settings.

  2. Tap General.
  3. Choose Transfer or Reset iPhone from the bottom.
